11 Skeins of Handspun Yarn
Apparently April/May has been a little more productive that I’ve been giving myself credit for. I decided to tackle laundry today, and set a rather large pile of skeins of yarn to soak. When I went down to change laundry over, I took the skeins out, gently squished the water out and then gave them a good stretch to help wet set them. Then I draped them over the drying rack so that they could dry at their own pace.
I just went back downstairs to change laundry over (again). Trust me, there is a lot of laundry today as I slacked off over the last few weeks. Eeep! I counted all the skeins and there are 11! Yup, 11 skeins. At least 7 of them are 4oz each and the remaining 4 are at least 2oz each. That’s a lot of yarn.
I’m glad that I chose such bright colours to spin up as the weather here has been so gray for the last few weeks. The back row colours don’t show up quite as nicely because the lighting in the basement isn’t fantastic (hey, its a basement!).
After these are dry, I’m going to twist them up into nice little skeins and I’m thinking about listing some on etsy. Mostly because I don’t have any plans for any of them so they won’t be used anytime soon. Plus, I can hear the rest of my fiber stash calling out my name so there will soon be even more! If you see one that you’d like, let me know. For readers these will be $25 (plus shipping if there is any) which covers the cost of the rovings themselves plus the wear and tear on my wheel.
