In case you hadn’t noticed, Toronto gets cold. I’m a happy camper because the weather allows my inner corporate ninja a chance to escape.
One of the things that I’ve never understood is people’s inability to dress for the weather. When it is negative 30C (long live the windchill), why would you leave your hat/scarf/mitts at home? Are you more concerned about having your hair stay perfect than frostbite? When there is a decent layer of ice covering the city, why are you wearing stillettos?
It is mornings like this, when I’m standing at the streetcar stop bundled up against the cold that I wonder at the fundamental difference between myself and the people around me. Common sense and practicality seem to get lost in the hustle and bustle (and the desire to be perfect coiffed/dressed/etc.) of today’s world. I’d much rather be throwing snowballs or running barefoot at the cottage. I want the room in my life to have fun!
Speaking of fun. Today I rocked a Kris Kross belt buckle. Thankfully I didn’t “miss my bus”, although I did have this strange desire to Jump…
