Mrs Shaw

Over the weekend Jason & I went to Belleville for my cousin Julie’s wedding. There was lots of talk of current and future weddings – especially since my cousin Lauren & I are getting married within weeks of each other next summer.

Lauren had told me that she was bringing me a gift that was “delicate”. I was totally confused about what it could possibly be, until I opened it up and realized that it was absolutely perfect. Squeeee!

They are Clover knitting needles with handmade “Mrs Shaw” hearts on top. Super cute and totally perfect.

Thanks Lauren!

When Gucci Plays

One of my favorite things about getting home at the end of a day (aside from hugs from Jason) is seeing Gucci play. He’s only started to figure out playing over the last 4-5 months. Recently he’s turned into his ridiculous play monster. His favorite toys are these weird stuffing-less animals and homemade balls of felt.

I really love when he tears at his felt ball and then looks up at you all cute and innocent with a mouthful of fluff. He’s all innocent little kid “no mom, I swear I didn’t eat the last cookie! What evidence?”. Caught red handed mister! p.s. I swear he has eyes under that mop.

And then 5 seconds after I manage to get a good photo, we’re right back to where we started. Ferocious!

Life (or something like it)

I know that I haven’t updated in a while. We’ve been away every weekend since the beginning of July. We’ve been busy 2-3 nights a week. Add household chores, wedding planning, collecting information for immigration, and general life and you don’t have a lot of free time. In the meantime, jananas has been ignored. Think of it as living my life instead of documenting it.

Thankfully, we have some free time coming up. Even though two sets of friends are visiting this weekend and we’re going to be busy, we’re stoked to get to spend a weekend in our own house, sleeping in our own bed, and eating our own food!

This next year is so jammed back its crazy. Trying to chunk out my to dos so that I don’t get overwhelmed. I’m excited and nervous and counting down the days.
