How much wood could a wood chuck chuck?
How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck would spin yarn? Answer 13 skeins in about 2.5 weeks. 4 of the skeins are less 4 oz and all the rest are 4 oz – or the equivalent of just over 2.25lbs of fiber. When I put it that way, that’s a lot of yarn!!
Sometimes I forget about how much I accomplish in my personal life. The hours that I spend at work drag on and the lethargy spills over. Then I take a look at my stash of hand spun and realize that I actually get a lot done in my limited free time (like finishing up the book a week challenge in half the time I’d allotted for it).
I rented a drum carder from Lettuce Knit for the week and have been carding a bunch of my fiber stash. Previously it was not nice to spin and I’m in the process of making it into nice, easy to spin batts. It looks like a whole lot of fiber once it is nicely aerated. I also received a 2lb box of fiber as my CSA share from Wool n Feather Farm. Oh my goodness, so much more fiber to play with! I’m putting myself on a buying hiatus until I can get more spun up.
Let me know if you are interested in any of the skeins pictured above. We can work something out and I’ll donate all profit to my birthday fundraiser for Soi Dog Foundation.
